Seoul Winter 2019 - Day 2
The plan for this day is to take the train to Incheon station to explore ChinaTown and Fairy Tale Village.
After a late night that we have checked into the hotel, we decided to take it slow on Lunar New Year Eve.
Sun rise in the winter is around 7am. This is view from the 28th floor of the gym's entrance.
Some cloudy skies.
There is a stair leading downstairs towards the gym.
The gym is surprising large. It is one of the biggest gym in the Starwood hotels.
fantastic view for the stationary cyclist station.
The gym has a golf simulator within the gym. It is fantastic. Koreans are known to love golf.
Lots of track mills to choose from.
I seat next to the window with a view of from the 38th floor.
I decided to go up to the main breakfast area. most of the food cleared away at 10am.
I quickly grab some remaining food as the waitress are very quick in clearing all the food at 1010am.
I love their brown button mushrooms. I am not sure if it salmon. I think it is like rainbow trout instead.
I grab a bowl of crab meat soup. Not much crab meat. pretty starchy.
This is the view from the 41th floor of the breakfast area. Cloudy outlook.
After breakfast, it is time to take a walk outside the hotel. The weather is cold like 5 degrees Celsius.
There is a slight gust of wind blowing. It is a new year even morning. It is quite deserted.
There is small park outside the hotel. Most of the tree are void of leaves during winter. The prickly leaves tree provide some greenery to the landscape.
It is too cold for us. We walked back into the building. There is a shopping mall within the Sheraton D Cube. It is mix commercial development where there are offices, hotel and mall.
Despite being new year eve, the mall is opened. I was told that major malls are opened during this festive period.
It is time for us to grab the train to Incheon. There are two lines in Sindirom. Line 1 (Blue)and Line 2 (Green). There are protective doors in the station. Passengers queue up in lines to board the train.
Since, you are allowed to eat and drink in the station, vending machines are placed. There is a stall in each station that sells snacks, bread, papers and drinks.
We took the Line 1 towards Incheon. It is on the street level. One of the station, you can see a small that the train needs to cross.
The train is quite wide. You can have three rows of people standing comfortably.
We have finally arrived at Incheon station.
The trains runs on overhead power cables.
Station gates are quite interesting. It is thin to maximise space.
Once you are out of the station, you can see Chinatown. A typical Chinese gate like structure greets you.
You can see a heart shape deco and dried flowers outside Incheon station.
I crossed the road to have view of the entrance of chinatown. The area is on a hill. The lanes are narrow. Shops lined up on both sides of the road.

The breakfast in Sheraton D Cube is quite a disaster. I did not realise there is a large number local Koreans having a staycation in the hotel. There is a wait of 20 minutes for breakfast. The breakfast area is quite large. I decided to head down to the club lounge for breakfast instead. The selection of food is average in my opinion. A plate of sunny side up and abalone porridge. Coffee is nice. Sprinkle of cinnamon.
