thomson nature reserve
It is the opening of the Thomson nature reserve.
It attracted a number of visitors. The car park is rather small.
The car park allows more cars than it has parking lots.
There is a washroom which is new in the park.
This is a map of the park. The park is not large. I think you can complete it within an hour. There is tar road and sandy path of the park.
An exhibtion of old items from the past. I guess it must be abandoned.
The area used to be thriving in the 1960s... Not sure how it was abandoned so quickly.
Nice path that brings one into the park.
There is a rest area in the park with a swing. It is quite relaxing.
Some old ruins in the trees.
There are small wooden steps outside the washroom.
Directions to trek. Both ways will lead one back here. Both treks will make use of the sandy path.
This is an old road. Long forgetten in the rapid development of Singapore.
I was trying to look for the endangered specices of the Raffles monkey. but no luck.
the trial gets sandy again.
Old charmed path as one needs to climb up or down depending on the direction you are coming from.
Most of the trees have been there for some time. It gives that natural look in a concrete Singapore.
Back to where we started.
A map of the park. It is a short hike.
IT is a nice place to visit but you will not go back again unlike the Winsor Park where the hike is longer and more interesting. Maybe, I will try to go back again in the evening.
