13th Sept - Thoughts of Starhub and SingTel

It is Friday the 13th. It is also the Lunar Lantern festival. The Chinese calendar of 8th month of the 15th day where the moon is supposed to be the brightest and biggest in the lunar calendar.

The week in the market has been rather positive due to the pending China and USA talks and expected interest rates reduction from the USA FEDs. There is lots positive anticipation.

Stocks in Singapore has moved up this week.

The volume appears to have picked up during the week. It interesting to note the volumes during the close of each trading session.

Let's take a look at Singtel and Starhub.

Singtel has been pretty flat for the week, while Starhub has shown an increase in price in the past couple of days. There is no major announcement in the market about Starhub.

There is a 5% increase on Thursday opening.


















I have increased the duration to 5 mins intervals. It appears someone put a trade that caused this spike.

It could be a single trade that created the push in price.

looking at the strength index.

Comparing with Singtel, it is shows similar weakness.

Is it a blip for Starhub?

We need more data to see if Starhub will continue to rise or it will fall back towards 1.30.

Looks like both stocks did not perform as well as the boarder market.

Is it still an interesting stock to trade?

We shall be see.. but at this moment, there are better stocks to invest in.
