A rising tide carries all boats
The market has a positive start for the day. I am not sure what is the catalyst. It is up more than 10 points as I write.
A rising tide carries all boats.
There is an investment by Keppel today in the news into China. It appears to have triggered a small rise in the stock. A nice opening at 9am. It struggled in the first hour as the traders digest the news. There is a buy indicator around 10ish that pushes the stock higher. How high can it go. I am doubtful it will be more than 6.15 today from a low of 6.08. Not bad if you are a short term trader. The question is how do you find such stocks to trade.
I saw that Keppel is listed in Business Times website as a few stocks to watch this morning. It seems that Business Times have feelers to what is happening to companies and highlight it. I think this may be a good start.
Looking at the chart closer, I can observe the closing is positive despite of the low volumes. I guess someone must have pushed the price higher at the opening with a confident BUY call.
It is also interesting to note that the bears are out immediately to push the price down. It is an opportunity to short the stock. This will be an opportunity to buy if you miss the opening. It seems that there is a tussle for positions in the next hour. Volume is higher than past week. It is a positive sign of interests in the stock. Else, it price cannot be sustained. There is another push which sends it higher. RSI is heading towards the green but momentum has slowed slightly.
I think there is profit taking later in the afternoon. Just a guess. We shall see.
Sembcorp looks lively too. Nice volume and green bars. Momentum is losing. Maybe will go down later in the afternoon. Not sure if it is because of the market sentiment that is doing well.
Positive opening buy appears to be directionless. Lack of volume compared to the two above. RSI is stronger than Sembcorp. Momentum is lacking like Sembcorp. I think it is still uncertain in the direction.
Well, three stocks are positive in the morning. I think it will be worthwhile to see how it closes later today.
